Written and composed by Bruce Sklar, a volunteer who assists John Thompson with Sentry Shepherds Rescue:

Dear compassionate supporters,

We come before you today with a plea filled with hope and determination on behalf of Sentry Shepherds, our devoted German Shepherd Rescue. For the past seven years, under the guidance and management by John Thompson, we have been dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating these incredible dogs. Now, we stand at a pivotal moment where we need your assistance to provide funding to be able to offset expenses John is providing out of pocket. John a Vietnam veteran and retired First Sergeant having served for 27 years in the US Army has exhausted all of his personal funds and savings towards the rescue and now needs your support. At Sentry Shepherds, our mission is to provide a safe haven for German Shepherds facing unfortunate circumstances. We have witnessed firsthand the heart-wrenching stories of these intelligent and loyal beings enduring abandonment, neglect, and abuse. But with your unwavering support, we can continue being a beacon of hope for them. On any given day Sentry Shepherds has 8 to 10 German Shepherds in its rescue, needing nourishment, medical attention, training and intake and potential adoption preparation.  Your donation is tax deductible in accordance with their 501(c)(3) non-profit status. Your donation will provide a blessing for those beloved German Shepherds in need of a new start in life. John has selflessly dedicated his life after retirement to the well-being of these noble creatures. And John being on a fixed income which only covers his household expenses, he needs support to finance the rescue. His experience, commitment, and unwavering love have shaped Sentry Shepherds into the compassionate organization it is today. His leadership continues to inspire all that knows him through this rescue and other ventures he is involved in and also the lives he touched of both the rescued dogs and the humans who adopt them. Last year he rescued 111 GSD’s and found homes for 107 of them. Compared to the same time last year the demand is doubled. We humbly ask for your support in our GoFundMe campaign. Your generous contributions will not only help us achieve our goal but also make a lasting impact on the lives of countless German Shepherds who deserve a second chance. https://www.facebook.com/groups/385176197112484/?ref=share_group_link

Here are ways you can make a difference:

 1. Donate: Your financial support, no matter the amount, brings us closer to our goal. Every dollar counts and contributes to saving lives and transforming futures.
 2. Share: Spread the word about our mission and fundraiser on social media, among your friends, family, and community. Your voice has the power to reach others who may also share our passion for these majestic dogs. We cannot adequately express our gratitude for your compassion, generosity, and belief in our mission. Your support will enable us to continue rescuing and rehabilitating German Shepherds in need. Let's stand together and make a profound difference! Thank you from the depths of our hearts for joining us on this incredible journey. With immense appreciation, Sentry Shepherds.
