You Can Help Jana and Her Beautiful Daughter.

Our beautiful friend, Jana Dadant, lost her home of 12 years in the Palisades Fire. Jana is a single mother (and only parent) to her beautiful 2-year old daughter, Amaya, and sweet rescue puppy, Kiwi. They’re safe and she was able to evacuate with most essentials and a few treasured items. Everything else is gone.

Unfortunately, like many of her neighbors, Jana’s home was uninsured. She paid insurance for 10 years before being dropped by two different carriers. She had been unable to find new coverage due to the age of her home. As it stands, it’s looking like a total loss. As someone who owns the home but leases the land it sits on, she has little say in whether or not the mobile home park will be rebuilt. With no insurance to fall back on, it feels like so much she’s worked for and loves has been taken away in an instant.

As a tenacious, resilient, independent, and capable woman, Jana will find a way through this and will use this to grow even stronger. Her focus now is on making sure Amaya is safe, happy and unaffected. Jana works full time and often travels for work and relies on her family and village to help when need be. It is the sense of community that she cherished most in her park, knowing that they had each other’s backs.

She is brave, bold, and the kindest person you could ever imagine. My wife told Jana that she was signing up to volunteer with Project Angel Food here in LA. Jana’s response was, “I want to come.” Lost her home. Still wants to volunteer. That’s Jana. The world needs more like her.

We’re asking anyone who is able to help a person who rarely asks for help. If you’re able, please help by donating or even just sharing this page. Doing so will help Jana cover expenses and losses that can’t be covered by FEMA and will allow her to keep working, get back on her feet and ensure a sense of normalcy for Amaya.

This past year has been filled with enormous loss for Jana and her family, beyond the fire that took her home.
