Help Ravi Get Top Surgery!

Hello! I am Ravi! 
I am a trans non-binary queer and I am fundraising for my top surgery later this year in August! I have been on T for 8 months but have been binding (wearing gender-affirming chest compression vest/tank) for longer. 

Although binding has been an important step in starting and understanding my transition, it is no longer sustainable on my mental or physical health. I work in a busy, cis male dominated kitchen and binding is constricting on my movements and leaves me in so much pain that I dread putting my binder back on the next day and especially so on my days off. 

Transitioning has been a beautiful and wonderful experience. It feels like I have finally grown into my body.  I look in the mirror and I’m happy with the changes I’ve watched my body go through. It’s been extremely healing to my inner child. One of my earliest memories is being in pre-school,  playing house with a playmate and the feeling of discomfort and frustration of knowing I was playing somebodies sister, someone’s  daughter, someone’s mom. It wasn’t the way I perceived myself. It wasn’t what I wanted to be. 

Now, I’m about to be 23 and I still carry that frustration. I still carry the discomfort. 
All I want is to be fully comfortable in my own body. I no longer wish to carry this weight. I don’t want to feel guilty or ungrateful anymore for not wanting breasts. Especially when all they have ever made me feel was unsafe and uncomfortable.  

It’s been very hard for me to vulnerable and open and ask for help but again, I am aiming to raise $7,000 for my double incision mastectomy scheduled for the last week of August in TJ.

My surgery itself is $5,270.

My post-op recovery $1,600.

Post-op recovery would be for rent/utilities/food while I take a month off work to recover.

Any thing left over will go to traveling cost, gas, and food while I spend my first week post-op in TJ waiting for my follow up appointment to remove my stitches.

I’ve already paid my down deposit for the surgery, as well as the cost of lodging for the week in TJ. I plan on saving everything I can between now and August. This is a huge step for me and I am beyond excited!!!
