Help Selena Complete Her Master's in Sport Management
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Selena Arjona, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Kinesiology Sport Management at San Jose State University. Originally from Panama, I moved to the U.S. to chase my dreams of higher education and a career in sports management. As an international student, I face unique financial challenges, including restrictions that limit me to working only 20 hours per week and ineligibility for student loans.
For the past seven years, I was not only a dedicated student but also a committed track athlete. My involvement in athletics granted me scholarships that significantly helped with my educational expenses. Unfortunately, I’ve run out of athletic eligibility with one crucial year left in my program. To compound the challenge, I had to make the difficult decision to stop running track so I could work additional hours within my permit limits to fund my education.
This final year is pivotal for me to complete my studies and start my career, but without financial assistance, I am at risk of not being able to afford tuition and living expenses. I am working two jobs within the allowed hours and managing my studies, but the financial burden is still overwhelming. The cost of tuition, books, and living expenses as an international student is a challenge I am currently unable to meet on my own.
Why I Need Your Help
My goal is to raise $15,000 to cover my tuition for my final year. This support would not only allow me to focus on my studies but also to continue contributing to the community here as I have been, through organizing educational and sporting events for local children.
Your donation will directly contribute to my tuition fees, academic books, and basic sustenance. More importantly, it will ensure that I can complete my education and work towards my goal of becoming a director in digital marketing for a professional sports team. Every bit helps, and I am immensely grateful for any support you can provide.
Thank you for reading my story and considering a contribution to my education. I am committed to making the most out of this opportunity and giving back to the community that supports me through this journey. Please feel free to share my story with others who might be willing to help. With your support, I am one step closer to my dreams.
