Get Samantha Sharpe's album to the finish line!

Hello,

My name is Samantha Sharpe, and if you know me, you know I'm an independent musician, singer-songwriter, and full-time-dreamer. I've been working on a 12-song album, and having written all the songs, I've suddenly come to the pointy end of it all..

I've been working with an incredible producer to bring my vision to life, on these tracks that I truly believe will change the trajectory of my career and bring joy to so many people. My songs are in the genre of pop, with lyrics about universal (but personal) topics such as friendship breakups, mental health, inner child work, the pressure to settle down, and going after your dreams and ambitions.

I studied songwriting with a label-services company via zoom to get industry feedback on my writing, I worked with the ~wrong producers to try to find the right sound, and I've been working SO HARD to get this project finished.. but I'm coming up a little short. I found the right sound, the right producer, and the path forward, but things aren't adding up as quickly as I'd like.

I've paid my incredible producer Michael Mumford $6,000 as of November 30, and there's $10,000 owing at that same time period.

I've been taking on odd jobs, casual work for friends' small businesses, 10c can collecting, dog-walking, house-sitting, selling my belongings on marketplace and at bric-a-brac markets, as well as playing gigs across Melbourne, busking on the weekends, and continuing to write music and earn royalties for it being used. The problem with some of these things is the delay in being paid.

This year one of my older releases was used in a tv program (on national TV, Channel 9 Australia!), and I've grown so much since writing that song I truly can't imagine how much higher I could reach with my new body of work. I got paid for that work being used, but the show aired in July.. I got paid in November! It takes time, and I don't want to make my producer wait too much longer for what he is owed. He is gracious and understanding, we have a payment plan in place, but I can't always pay him on time or in the amounts I would like.

Money raised through this fundraiser will go directly towards making this album a reality. Paying Michael is my #1 priority, and any money I raise beyond the remaining fee for him = money to take the promo photos, manufacture the CDs, ship the merch.. It's been a huge undertaking, and as an independent, I have no financial backers but myself.

I'm having a fundraising party this week (Dec 13 is the date for that event!) at one of the venues I play regularly. In the meantime, I've had a few people who aren't local to my area ask how they can contribute.. this is the way!
