Help Stella Get Back on the Road to Success

Stella has the kind of job opportunity that is rare for trans folks - a competitive hourly wage at a place that offers a real career in a trans-inclusive workplace with good benefits. It’s the white whale of employment for a queer person! But Stella has hit a bump in the road - the transmission just went out on her 20 year-old beater that’s been getting her back and forth to her non-profit job for years. Without a car, Stella’s dreams of having a job that will allow her to stably pay the bills are stalled.

In order to start this job, Stella needs reliable transportation and that means she needs a car. She has been working paycheck-to-paycheck at her non-profit job and the past year has left her without the kind of resources require to just go get a car. We are fundraising to get Stella the funds she needs to get that car and start this dream job. The funds we raise will go to the downpayment, two months of vehicle loan and insurance payments to cover the time between now and her first paycheck, and registration fees.

Here is the breakdown of our fundraising goals:

Down payment - $2000

Cost to cover car payment for two months - $500

Cost to cover the anticipated increase in insurance for two months - $100

Any associated fees - $240
