Driving to the hospital emergency room must have been both scary and concerning. The thoughts that race through your head are forced to stay positive all the time you’re trying your best to stay calm. Just get him there, he will be just fine.
I received a phone call from my middle sister, ( there are 5 of us) stating that our youngest sister Yolanda and her husband Bob were at the hospital in Grand Rapids Mi.

Bob had been suffering from headaches and on this day, he was experiencing more problems including loss of small motor skills. There was no more time to blame it on stress or not enough sleep. Something was seriously wrong.
Our sister, Yolanda, has had a stressful couple of months. The company she worked for closed in Jan 2024 leaving her without a paycheck and no insurance.
You can imagine pacing the confines of the emergency room, trying to stay calm , watching the nurses and x-ray techs come and go and waiting endless hours for the lab work to come back with the diagnosis. When the results finally come to you by way of the doctor. You are devastated. Two tumors on the brain and one on the kidney. Without an operation you have, maybe 6 months. An operation to remove the tumors will give you your life back.
As their family, we cannot express how great our concerns are for Bob. He is a very hard worker; he will do anything that is asked of him and is truly dedicated to his wife and family. So, surgery it is, and the long road of recovery will be supported by his wife, children, and extended family.
There is no easy way to ask for help, especially when you have been so independent. But the medical bills will pile high on this illness with no insurance to assist. Yolanda will stand by his side and keep up his recovery. So finding a new job at this time may not be possible.
We as her family are concerned for Yolanda’s health as with medical bills, cost of living, medications, runs to the doctor and misc. medical needs can often lead to exhaustion.
Setting up this GoFundMe page for her family will allow some relief from their financial burden. We are reaching out asking you to give whatever you can to help this family. Times are hard on us all and we appreciate any amount you give. Yolanda will be so grateful as she applies the funds toward the surmounting medical bills.
Currently, the timeline for his care is brain tumors removed on Thursday (Jan 25th),and right kidney removal on February 8th.We pray that the biopsy results return with a diagnosis of “primary tumors.”

We will keep you updated on the surgery, diagnosis, and Bob’s progress.
Thank you for your generosity, compassion, and prayers.

UPDATE...... Yolanda met with the doctor . The diagnosis was not good. Bob has a Glioblastoma secondary tumor stage 4.
It's very aggressive and he was sent home to get his affairs in order. Your donations of any amount will help with final arrangements. Your prayers are also appreciated at such a devastating time for our family.
