Community conservation projects in Nepal
Donation protected
My name is Steve Frankham,
I'm a writer and conservationist, passionate about the protection of our planet, indigenous communities, and a sustainable future for both people and wildlife.
I've been living and working with local Tharu communities in areas surrounding Bardia National Park in Nepal. The area is critical for endangered wildlife, including tigers, rhinos, wild elephants, and Ganges river dolphins. However, communities are not benefiting from wildlife conservation and are facing challenges with human-wildlife conflict.
I'm raising money for 2 community conservation organisations that are critical for the well-being of both people and wildlife in Bardia.
These are CBAPU (The Community Based Anti-Poaching Unit) and the RRT (Rapid Response Team), two community organizations that work to mitigate human-wildlife conflict and protect endangered wildlife. They are desperately short of funds, and not supported by major donors, but their work is critical for the lives of both local people and animals.
All funds raised here go directly to the community.
