Help us, help do-gooders become visionaries.

The Vision Studio, Inc. is a do-good startup. We humbly request your help funding an effort to both 1) restructure the company as a worker-owned cooperative, and 2) ready our prototype for pilot launch.

ABOUT:
Our founder Laura Fish sees a much bigger picture—that’s what she’s known for. Nearly four years ago, she left big business behind to pursue her life’s mission work. She then founded the studio. She’s done everything to self-fund this endeavor (including selling her car). But now the studio is in need of more substantial funding. She seeks your help, so the studio can do just that.

Here’s more about our stakeholder, mission work, our offering, and how the funds will be used:

I. STAKEHOLDER:
A stakeholder is a profile of the human-beings a social impact organization serves. Our beloved stakeholder is the do-gooder. The do-gooder is someone who has a good heart, and is well-intentioned, but whose efforts to effect positive change are lacking or ineffective.

II. MISSION WORK:
Our mission work centers on envisioning a better future, and leading the way. We will accomplish this by offering products, services and partnerships exclusively to charitable foundations, nonprofits and worker-owned cooperatives. Meeting the do-gooder on their home turf.

III. OUR OFFERING
Our mission work, is that of the visionary. A visionary is someone who uses their ability as a seer and innovative prowess to envision a better future. Therefore, our offering must help transform our beloved stakeholder, the do-gooder, into visionaries.

Meet an offering that bridges vision with action. That means we help do-gooders both, 1) clarify their vision of a better future, and 2) take effective, iterative actions that moves us all in the direction of that optimal existence.

Our core offering is inspired by the Japanese proverb: “Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare". Suffice to say, the studio heeds the wisdom of the above proverb.

IV. FUNDS USE:
The funds will be directed to all work that 1) restructures the company as a worker-owned cooperative, and 2) readies our prototype for pilot launch.

Cooperative Restructuring:
As a do-good organization, our founder believes the studio must restructure as a work-owned cooperative, or similar entity. The goal will be for all those working at the studio to have a voice, a vote and real ownership. The costs of going co-op include, but are not limited to: research to vet various cooperative models, hiring legal assistance and financial consultants. In tandum, the studio plans to formally amend its founding documents with its shared purpose, mission work and values. Only then can the studio apply to be officially recognized as a benefit organization, or similar standings.

Prototype to Pilot:
Our offering will empower do-gooders with features like step-by-step knowhow, tools, learning activities, real world examples, and what will become, a network of support. The dense workload includes, but is not limited to: design, user experience, branding, architecture, development, Q/A testing, securing intellectual property rights and formalizing partner contracts.

Underlying all efforts are the startup’s basic needs, which includes purchasing computer equipment, software subscriptions, accounting, etc.
