On Aug. 16, someone took aim at democracy — literally — by smashing the SC Progressive Network's front window. It took a hit but did not break. Neither will we.

The good news is that nobody was in the building, and the perpetrator did not gain entry.

The bad news is that the crime will cost us $2,300 in repairs and security upgrades. We just completed extensive renovations, so this unexpected expense is a blow to our already strained budget.

This attack is an attempt to silence us. It will not work. As we have for 26 years, we will continue to fight for good government, fair elections, and collective power. (See our website for more about the Network and our projects, including the Modjeska Simkins School for Human Rights.)
