My name is Paul Sneed. I live in Ventura County, CA. I met my wife 10 years ago. She was from Peru. We had two beautiful children; Chelsea who is now 6 and Joshua, who is now 8. In 2019 my ex-wife abducted my children and took them to Peru.
I have sole physical and legal custody of my children. While some may think my children are not in danger because their Mother took them, nothing could be further from the truth. Despite a court order forcing Peruvian authorities to return my children, they have ignored it. My children are in terrible danger of physical and emotional harm.
I come to you today with a broken heart, in desperate need of help to facilitate the return of my children. I've been fighting for their return since their disappearance in 2019; 5 years.
I have spent my life savings. Every moment that passes feels like an eternity without them. As a parent, there is no greater pain than being separated from your children, especially when it’s against their will and mine. I am determined to do whatever it takes to bring them back home safely, but I cannot do this alone—I need your help.
Despite all my efforts to seek legal help and get them back, I am facing an overwhelming struggle. International child abduction cases are complicated, emotionally draining, and expensive.
From legal fees, travel expenses, and lodging, to navigating international laws and working with authorities in both countries, I am facing barriers that I simply cannot overcome without financial support. I have won a judgment that forces the Peruvian gov't to return my children to me, but they remain in Peru.
Why I Need Your Help
To bring my children home, I need to take additional legal action in both Peru and the U.S. While I've involved my Congresswoman Julia Brownley, I must do more.
- Hire international legal experts who specialize in child abduction cases.
- Travel to Peru to work closely with authorities, lawyers, and local organizations.
- Pay court fees and other associated legal costs.
- Ensure my safety while in a foreign country, where navigating the legal system can be dangerous and unpredictable.
I've been traveling to Peru every year to find my children but have been unsuccessful.
All of these things come with a cost that is beyond what I can afford on my own any longer. I’m reaching out to you for help because time is of the essence. Every moment my children are away increases the risk of being permanently separated from them.
