Help us get Dennis an Immigration Lawyer!

Dennis has been living with us since October 2019, and they have been a delightful addition to our family. I am so glad that we can give them a place where they can be safe and supported.
There’s just one problem, Dennis still doesn’t have a court date for their asylum case. Part of that was Trump, a big part of it was COVID, but the biggest reason is that they have had pro bono representation by an organization that wants to do good work, but has been overwhelmed. It has been a constant struggle getting any information or help from them and the case hasn’t gone anywhere for years.

Many of the friends Dennis made in detention have had their asylum approved within a year of getting out, while Dennis is in year three or four.
We wanted things to work without having to hire a private lawyer, but that time has passed.
Any help to cover the cost of a lawyer would be greatly appreciated. We are helping, and Dennis has been working to raise money for one, but as everyone knows, lawyers are very expensive.
Dennis has been living in immigration purgatory for far too long and I can’t wait for them to be truly free to live their life without the huge burden of being “in the immigration process”.
Thank you for your help,
Jonathan
