Renovating the Gum Store Building and property is a labor of love for our founder. She considers herself one very lucky Penny to have folks who support and encourage her wild and sometimes crazy dreams.
We formed the 501c3 corporation LUCKY PENNY and have adopted “In Fun We Trust” as our motto because we do!
Our mission is “to provide housing, studio, and exhibit opportunities for artists of different mediums; to provide safe and welcoming spaces where they can focus on their art: creating a community for inspiration & collaboration”.
We have worked tirelessly for the last 2 years to transform a sorely neglected former general store building into a haven for art and healing. The first thing we did was work with the local elementary school kids to install a mural on the building so the community could be a part of our transformation. Then we started the renovations.
Now, Gum Store is home to 8 different artists who want to make a difference in our community. We've got big plans...and we need your help to bring them to fruition!
Your generosity raised $2500 and helped us to add 2 parking areas, clear the creekbank, and improve the exterior with 2 giant banners.
Future plans include a historical marker commemorating the schoolhouse that originally sat on the property, an interactive Art Garden, community classes and seminars, and public art installations/community projects.
We appreciate your friendship, support and encouragement! Visit us at https://gumstorestudios.com/.
