Support Below BC: Advocating & Educating for MinEx in BC
Donation protected
Since 2015, Below BC has brought the wonders of earth science, mineral exploration, and resource extraction to tens of thousands of people across British Columbia. Through our hands-on, interactive traveling collection of over 3,000 mineral, rock, and fossil specimens, we have inspired curiosity, educated communities, and fostered a deeper understanding of the natural world and its importance in our daily lives.

Beyond our public outreach, Below BC also safeguards a significant legacy collection of geological specimens, tools, and records from past generations of geologists. Our extensive online library serves as a vital resource for students, researchers, and industry professionals, ensuring that knowledge of British Columbia’s rich geological history is preserved and accessible to all.
However, the challenges of the past few years have taken their toll. The impact of COVID-19, combined with economic struggles in the mineral exploration sector, has left Below BC with reduced support and resources. Our website is in critical need of updates, and our ability to attend public events and continue our outreach efforts is at risk. Without immediate funding, Below BC may be forced to shut down, leaving a significant gap in earth science education and engagement across the province.

This is also a crucial time for mineral exploration both within British Columbia and Canada. Ethical sourcing of metals is key to maintaining a thriving economy whilst also meeting the demands for materials to sustain our daily lives. Educating about the processes associated with mineral exploration and mining is proving key to dispell the myths about the impacts, attract people to work in the industry and to garner public support.

We are reaching out to you—individuals, industry leaders, and those who believe in the power of education and preservation—to help us raise a minimum of $50,000 to sustain Below BC. Your donation will directly support:
- Revitalizing our online interactive library, ensuring accessibility to crucial geological data.
- Covering travel and operational costs to bring our hands-on exhibits to schools, communities, and public events.
- Preserving and cataloging our legacy collection, safeguarding decades of geological knowledge for future generations.
- Continuing our advocacy efforts within the industry to promote the importance of earth science education.
The demand for our work is stronger than ever, but without financial support, our ability to serve British Columbia will come to an end. Your contribution—no matter the size—will make a real difference in ensuring that Below BC can continue its mission. Please consider donating today and helping us keep earth science education alive for future generations.
