Love can’t pay the bills….

Rescue is in crisis right now and needs your help. High Hopes is a small rescue, we give our hearts, bodies and souls to do all we can to help our furry friends find happiness and love. We wish we could say that was free to do but unfortunately we’re not excluded from paying bills - kennels to keep the dogs safe, water and electric to have the washing machine with blankets and bedding in on a constant cycle, vet bills to keep the dogs well, our insurance, website costs, fuel to get the dogs out and about, and of course dog food! We have some wonderful supporters set up on recurring payments supporting us every month from as little as £1 and we probably receive about £1000 each month in regular donations. Our actual running costs are around 10 x that and we really need your help to survive this month. Rescue feels very much like an uphill battle and extremely overwhelming. We are noticing more and more days where we pause and think…. How do we carry on? Then one of the dogs snuggles into us, looks us in the eye and gives us the exact reason why we must carry on. What is the alternative without rescue? What is the future of so many dogs who are relying on rescues to allow them to live? In our hearts, there is no option but to carry on…. And in our heads we know that not just High Hopes, but lots of rescues cannot and will not survive without donations and in turn, neither will many many dogs…. It’s that simple. The work we do does not even scratch the surface in reality, there are so many lost souls that are needing help and relying on us.

High Hopes was founded in 2018 to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome any abandoned, unwanted or damaged soul that needed our help. It costs around £15,000 a month to cover everything we need and it really is impossible to do without you. Our love is free and there is lots of it but unfortunately love doesn't cover the bills. We need your help to continue to do this. We’re asking you to support us to be the temporary family to our dogs who are a little lost in the world.

We do not receive any corporate sponsorship or grants, and we are not sure if our posts are being seen on social media as our interaction is so low despite our follower numbers being so high. We will say the famous line “if each follower sent us £1 per month, we would never have to ask for donations” again and again but we have never been able to reach the target. We ask for help from lots of places but are often turned down with little explanation. Our bank account is not looking promising and we have more to pay out than we have in currently. Our monthly running costs are probably a drop in the ocean compared to some of the funding we have seen awarded to other charities, we try but are not considered.

So we really, really need your help to do this. A one off donation, a recurring donation, no matter how “small” or how “big” – every single penny matters, it all helps.
