Please consider donating to help support Hannah as she focuses on getting better.

Hello, we're Dana Allen and Lizzy Centerbar. Some of you may know us, we're simply friends of Hannah. We're reaching out to ask for your help.

Before we explain why we're reaching out, let us first say, Hannah did not ask for this GoFundMe to be set up nor does she know that we've set it up (perhaps she does now). Those of you who know Hannah know she's the last to ask for help but the first to give it. We're asking for her because we know she'd never do this on her own.

Here's what has happened...

Hannah (31yo) was unexpectedly hospitalized in the early morning hours of Easter after suffering a debilitating migraine for days prior and temporarily losing her vision, due to an ocular stroke. She spent 2 days at Albany Med during which time, it was discovered that she had a tear in her carotid artery. The tear resulted in clotting, which is a natural response by the body however, one of these clots broke free causing a block and the temporary vision loss.

During her stay, the medical team put her on blood thinner medication to dissolve the clots and monitored her response. She was then released after two days with instructions to stay on the blood thinners in hopes that her artery would heal on its own. It was anticipated that her recovery would take 3-6 months. Should the tear worsen or fail to repair itself surgery may be necessary to repair it or a stent may need to be put in.

Hannah was home recovering for 2 weeks, however, she was unexpectedly rushed back to Albany Med yesterday with a second tear in the carotid artery on the opposite side. She now is suffering two tears and the potential for surgery to resolve the issue has escalated. She's currently undergoing tests and waiting to hear from the medical team what her next steps are. As we learn of updates on her condition we will be posting them here to keep you all apprised of her situation.

We are asking for donations to help cover her medical expenses and to support her as it's likely she will be out of work without pay during her long-term recovery. We thank everyone who has already reached out, watched dogs, took care of horses, brought her food, flowers and so many other amazing supportive gestures. She has an incredible support system behind her and we hope you'll continue to carry that forward here. Let's remove the financial worry from her plate so she can simply focus on getting better.

With immense gratitude,
Dana & Lizzy
