Caroline's Pacemaker Fund

Hi, my name is Anthony. I am raising funds for an employee of Chidamoyo Christian Hospital in Zimbabwe. Her name is Caroline Chipungu. According to her doctor, "She had a holter ECG which showed that she has varying degrees of heart block, at times complete heart block. This affects the movement of electric signals in her heart. She therefore needs a pacemaker to sort out the problem."

In the late 90s I worked as an X-Ray tech for this hospital. It is a fine facility that employs an excellent staff. But this hospital often lacks necessary supplies. Caroline is the wife of the current X-Ray tech and herself an employee of the hospital. $7000 will cover the entire procedure and follow-up appointments (pacemakers require regular adjustment). Her job at the hospital earns Caroline fewer than $40 per month, so the cost of a pacemaker is beyond her means.

The folks who will manage these funds are personal friends of mine. I have known the hospital administrator for almost 30 years. I trust that the funds will be used appropriately.
