Servicing the Women of Santa Maria Hostel
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Caroline, I'm the Owner & Founder of Houston based Interior Design studio, Koukla Collective . It has always been a dream of mine to have an opportunity to design for those in need, and a beautiful opportunity has arrived at my doorstep this holiday season.
I'll be pulling as much as I can from my personal & business resources, but hoping to crowdsource some funding in order to breathe some new life into two rooms of the non-profit Santa Maria Hostel located in Houston, which services women, many of them pregnant or parenting, seeking treatment from substance abuse.
The goal of this service project is to transform two spaces in time for the holidays, so these women have a warm and safe recreational space to spend Christmas and time with their children when they visit, (without the buzz of fluorescent overhead lighting and sterile walls). You can read a tad more about them on their website, and a little more about the heart behind this project on my blog here.
Any contribution would be appreciated, and used in a manner to bring about some warmth this season to these women in recovery, spending the holidays in a treatment center. It's near and dear to my heart for many reasons, but mostly, because I am a woman in recovery myself.
If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to me personally. I've never crowdfunded before, so this is new territory for me - but I figured it was the best way to get the word out there and offer up the opportunity for those to contribute should you feel the heart nudge.
With gratitude,
