Morocco Earthquake Relief
Donation protected
Dear friends,
Who are we?
I am Emma Joyston-Bechal, owner of Camp Adounia, Riad Zamzam, Moroccan Berber Carpets and Tents of Hope. We have worked in Moroccan tourism for 20 years with the wonderful people of Morocco. I am resident of Morocco.
Due to the vast amount of messages asking to donate to the earthquake disaster, we have opened this fund as a way of accepting all of your donations for the people of Morocco. So that our teams and I can raise money for tents, blankets and medical supplies for the displaced people of the earthquake. Many people in the mountains are still under rubble, the villages are inaccessible and many people are now homeless, without medical aid, water and food.
How will the funds be spent?
Money will be transferred from the UK to my Moroccan Bank Account. After planning meetings with local relief workers and associations, a strategic plan will be complied to ensure best use of your money in purchasing tents, blankets and warm clothes for the winter.
Our desert drivers are able to supply food, water and medication to remote villages and collection centres in the mountains. This is happening now!
We will be working closely with experts to ensure your donations are well spent. Tents are our main production and we are now focusing on housing thousands of people and making tents for Associations to distribute with local government.
All of you who know us and gave generously during covid know that your money will spent in the best way and 100% of your donations will go directly to the local communities and people in dire need.
How we will distribute?
Our expert mountains guides and partner associations are helping us with updates on the remote areas affected. We are used to working in remote areas and hostile conditions. With your help we will do as much as we can to provide assistance and relief.
Our community of desert drivers will provide tents and blanket delivery in all terrain mountain conditions.

Most importantly with winter coming and temperatures dropping below -7ºC with heavy snow, we will be using our factory to make PVC relief tents, both using your donations and providing tents for other Associations in Morocco, with close to 300,000 people without shelter. We will also be buying blankets and mattresses as well as socks and hats.
Our factory teams will work on 2 shifts for the tents, to get as many made as possible. We are working closely with important Associations and local area Mayors to plan what is needed both now and once the relief agencies have left. Most importantly long term strategies to help these villages re-build their lives within a framework of sustainable development.
Thank you for your help.
