Raghad and Ahmed Al-Jaouni are newlyweds from the Gaza Strip. They live in northern Gaza and have been displaced many times, often sleeping on streets. They have lost their homes, jobs, and dreams.
Before the war, Ahmed lived in Jordan and had just become a certified Personal Trainer at his gym. He had to return to Gaza to marry his beautiful wife Raghad, who was studying to be a nurse, and then the war happened.
Raghad and Ahmed still got married despite the war. They did not have the traditional wedding with any of the customs and traditions that bring joy and happiness. This was not how they thought their love story would start.
A month into their marriage, Raghad became pregnant, and two weeks later she fell seriously ill due to lack of food. A week later, the fetus died, and they were very sad.
Since October 7, Ahmed has been stranded in the north of Gaza, unable to access his income as all banks are destroyed to the ground in the north of Gaza. Consequently, he has been without any income, making it a struggle to provide for his family amidst skyrocketing prices for life essentials like food and water.
Ahmed bears responsibility for his entire family, which consists of 10 people, medication for his mother, who suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, and a respiratory condition. Shelter, food, water, and basic hygiene products. He does not have any income to bear the responsibility alone.
His mother, Ismat,
his wife, Raghad.
His brother, Muhammad, is 18 years old. His brother Abdul Rahman, age 24.
His brother Mustafa is 22 years old.
His brother Zakaria, age 20.
His sister Safi is 13.
His sister, Al-Hadeel, is 15.
His sister, Remas, is 10 years old.
They are a very big family, and Ahmed can't feed them all on his own.
Their goal is to leave Gaza to a safe place so their family can live in peace and live their dreams.
Quick note about me. My name is Rubina and I am an Indian wife and mother living in the US. I have been closely following the situation in Gaza in the past few months and I have met Raghad online. We became friends and for weeks we have talked and he has showed me everyday, with videos and images, the impossibility of the situation she has to face with her family. As the situation continues to deteriorate she asked me to help her finding a way out from horror and destruction. As I can't connect the family bank account to this platform I will send all the donations to Via Western Union
For any questions you can contact me here and I will be happy to answer.
