Support Alana's Journey to a Safe New Life

Hi, my name is Alana, and I'm raising funds to support my transition into a new, safe life for myself.

I recently left my previous home because of domestic violence. My husband assaulted me and left me with no choice other than to leave with the little bit that I could take at that moment. Since that day in March, I've been piecing together my new life. I will be moving away from Sacramento to pursue a new career to continue supporting myself.

Why am I fundraising?

I've been navigating different social services that help with legal assistance as my husband and I are going to court to finalize our divorce agreement. Our first case with the legal system allowed him to return home without any penalty, leaving me to have to figure out how to safely navigate collecting the few items that I can from what was our house and have to secure housing in a short period of time.

Due to demand, I was unable to be placed in a domestic violence shelter and am currently juggling a job, a divorce, moving and recovery from domestic violence and abuse.

I am hoping with the help of my community, that I will be able to safely make my next steps into this new life. I want to thank you all for anything that you can donate to help and thank you for taking the time to read and hear my story.

All proceeds that are not used to assist the move, medical/therapy bills and the divorce, I will be donating to our local Domestic Violence shelter.
