A05 Annex FRC Robotics 2021 Needs Your Support!
Donation protected
We are A05 Annex, a robotics team from Hood River Valley High School. This will be our fifth year competing as an FRC team representing the Columbia River Gorge. FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an annual event where teams from around the world compete and cooperate in local and international competitions. Every year, in January, a new game is released. Teams of high-school students collaborate with coaches and mentors to design, build, and program a working robot for competition. In 2020, nearly 3,900 FRC teams from 34 different countries participated.
However, robotics competitions are not our only focus in FRC. Our biggest goal is to make STEM accessible to everybody. For this reason, our team is free to join. We also created the Unified Robotics program, which pairs FIRST team members and students with disabilities together to increase equity within STEM. It has been rewarding to see our community and FRC members support these students participating in an event that was not accessible only two years ago. Our other outreach programs include the STEM Bus, which is a mobile fabrication laboratory (“FAB LAB”) that provides STEM access to elementary students, as well as supporting various LEGO robotics programs in elementary and middle schools throughout the Gorge.
Your sponsorship is especially vital this year because we have lost HRVHS grant funding. Without support from our sponsors, we won’t be able to keep our team sustainable, running, and contributing to robotics in the Gorge. If you have been one of our previous sponsors, we thank you, as without your help through the years we would not have a robotics team. You have helped enrich our lives so much, and for that we are very grateful. We hope you will consider sponsoring us again.
In order to keep these projects and our team operating, our goal is to raise $26,000 in total for the 2021/2022 season. The money will go towards building a new robot, running outreach projects, registering and traveling to competitions, and sustaining our FRC team so we can continue to engage ourselves and our community in STEM for future years. If we qualify for the World Championship in Houston, this would increase to $60,000.
We would love to give you a presentation about our team, robot, and outreach to display what we have accomplished this year and our plans for the future.
Please take a look at our website, check out our video about all the awesome work we did during covid or Email us with any questions you have. We would love to hear from you!
Sincerely,
A05 HRVHS FIRST Robotics Competition Team 6831
