Guelph Professor Suspended for Denouncing Hamas

Paul Finlayson, a professor for 13 years at Guelph-Humber University was wrongfully suspended for supporting Israel and now needs our help!

Paul is not Jewish and describes himself as, “just an ordinary, no-name guy, a low-rung introverted academic”.

When he heard about the attacks, rapes, slaughter, and abductions that took place on October 7th he felt compelled to stand-up for Israel and criticized Hamas in a comment on LinkedIn.

In short, after receiving many anonymous student and faculty complaints, Paul was suspended pending an investigation.

Paul is up against a team of lawyers representing the school. The main complainant is Dr. Wael Ramadan, professor at Sheridan College. He himself publicly called Israel “an apartheid state committing genocide”. Paul is a member of CUPE, whose current president, Fred Hahn, celebrated the “power of resistance” the day after the October 7 massacre.

Clearly Paul needs our help in his battle to be reinstated and for the school to be exposed for human rights violations.

For Paul’s bravery, standing-up for the Jewish people, he has been defamed, pilloried, ostracized, suspended and may end-up being fired. As you can imagine this has caused Paul significant reputational and financial harm in addition to the personal health risks associated with the distress.

We cannot let Paul fight this battle alone. His fight is our fight! Together we must raise the needed money to hire the legal team he deserves and needs.
