Help for Melissa & Family
My sister, Melissa is a fighter – Unbeknownst to the family of the battle to come in the years ahead. She was born healthy, super smart and thriving as an honor student with a promising future as a medical doctor. We were not ready for the news we were destined to receive in ‘one day’.
In 2015, she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi India at 11 years old. Everything for my dad and the family changed suddenly, life would not be the same for them and has not been the same since. A type of cancer, abnormal blood cells which multiply rapidly so the disease worsens quickly. Requires aggressive, and timely treatment.
Her doctor said her white blood cell was 0.6 and platelet was 12. My dad and her mother cried profusely while Melissa displayed such great strength, being unmoved saying “Mommy I will be okay, don’t worry please. Pray for me.” She had to relocate her residence to India for eight months for Melissa to receive ongoing chemo- therapy treatments.
Afterwards, she was placed on chemo-therapy maintenance for two years, and a year later RELAPSE. Her vision became impaired drastically, vomiting with blood in it, nosebleeds and severe fatigue. The whole family was traumatized; how could this be when earlier she showed little signs of improvement. We were hopeful. All thanks to the Most High God friends and family rallied for support.
After the second relapse my dad was depleted of all life’s savings & investments. He was forced to liquidate and sell all assets, real estate to meet her urgent needs of ongoing prescriptions and hospital stay charges.
Here again, another blow of adversity, in 2020 she RELAPSED, unable to walk, suffering with no relief. No help coming through to manage the exorbitant medical costs of prescriptions, doctor appointments, hospital stay and other necessary costs. To date she has completed induction therapy. Her doctor said she definitely needs a bone marrow transplant to survive this dreadful disease. Unable to continue with chemotherapy, second and third treatments at this point without financial support.
I have created the page to reach divine helpers in hopes to alleviate some of the stressors they are facing in need of bone marrow transplant, with bills, including any future needs, as well as day-to-day expenses they may incur along the way.
I am most grateful for any amount donated, all of which make a huge impact on their lives, with your contributions and the power of the Most Highest she will have this life-saving procedure and live. May the Most Highest bless you all and thank you for your love and support!
