#6ToolField of Dreams

2020 has been a challenging time for our players, parents, coaches and the greater baseball community.  For more than 13 years, Trosky and Kali Baseball have been powerhouse travel baseball programs and we’ve been working tirelessly to continue our tradition of developing top talent.  We are very grateful for the 150+ players selected in the MLB Draft (30 in the top-5 rounds and 6 1st Round picks) as well as our 700+ college commits.

As many of you know, there has been little opportunity for games and practices since restrictions began in late March.  Our facility, South Bay Sports Training in downtown San Jose, has been impacted once again by the new lockdown orders, leaving even fewer available places for players to get in their much-needed practice. We have been exercising extreme caution and sensitivity to the Covid-19 virus, while simultaneously believing that the ability to practice is essential to our player’s physical and mental health.

It is our responsibility to find innovative ways for our players to advance their skills on the field in order to achieve their dreams of playing collegiate and professional baseball.  While looking for those new opportunities we have found a temporary solution that will fill a much-needed void in our baseball community.

Our current landlords (First Community Housing) have graciously given us the green light to build a temporary baseball field, outside batting cages and training area on a vacant lot behind SBST’s training facility. This space has been made available for us to lease through September 2021 when we are all hopeful that we will be able to return to some semblance of normalcy.  This new field will give players the opportunity to practice outside safely while we get through this virus together.

We were inspired to build this field at our own expense because of the willingness of our players to continue to work as hard as they can while navigating through this pandemic.  But, we need support from our families, friends and fans to help cover at least half of the costs it will take to make this a reality.

Baseball would not exist without the community that surrounds it.  We are extremely fortunate to have so many amazing families that have been a part of our program for years -- and we have many more years of service ahead of us.  There are so many businesses in similar situations right now, and we’re honored that you’ve considered contributing to ours.

We hope your loved ones stay safe, and thank you again.
