Help Ace and Shi Relocate

Hi, we are Ace and Shiloh, a married trans couple who currently live in Florida. We were hoping we would not have to do this, as we love the place we call home, but due to our governor's clear intent to harm LGBT people, primarily trans people, by passing bills that have made it illegal for our primary care practitioner to provide us with our HRT and other transitional care, as well as given bigots in healthcare the right to refuse our care by their prejudices, we have come to the unfortunate realization that we need to leave our life here in Florida and try to move somewhere safer. Shiloh has had a total oophorectomy, and as such, needs to be on external hormones for the duration of their life, and Ace requires HRT for their mental health and transition.

We have found that the Schenectady and surrounding areas of NY will be safe for us, and Shiloh's family is in that area for support, so we have put in multiple applications for places to live, one of which has reached out to us already.

With assistance from Shiloh's family in NY, we have come up with a bare-bones cost sheet for what we would need to safely leave the state of Florida, and at the very least get established in New York with our 3 cats and ourselves.

Ace is currently employed part-time, and Shiloh has just started a new full-time CNA position, as they were laid off from their agency position upon returning from funerals in both March and April. (Shiloh's maternal grandmother died February 28th, and Shiloh's little brother died April 12th.) This caused us to both miss work, and spend more money than we had in our savings for travel and lodging for both of these events.

Any donations towards this move will be going into a savings account and will be untouched until the move happens. Below will be our cost list, explaining what we are hoping to receive, and where we intend to use it.

Phew! That is not a paltry sum. It is a sum we would not be able to reach alone while it is still in a semi-safe period for cross-country travel.
