Support Kira's Move to Safety After Hurricane

My name is Kira and I've lived in Asheville my whole life. I'm currently living off Brevard Rd and I work at an Ingles in the area.

I am needing help to leave Asheville, NC after Hurricane Helene. I am on day 11 without power or water and just got denied for all FEMA assistance. There's no other assistance available for someone in my position. This devastation is unreal and breaks my heart.

I have family nearby close to the Charlotte area and I'm wanting to move somewhere near there. I know there are so many people needing help right now and in the same or worse shape than I'm in, but I can't continue to live like this for the foreseeable future.

I am confident in my ability to get a job near the Charlotte area quickly and am just needing help right now with moving expenses, gas, food, storage, etc.

Any money I raise will be used to make my car payments and car insurance payments until I start a new job, as well as helping to pay for a storage unit for a lot of my things that I just can't take with me at the moment. I will also use any funds for gas for my vehicle and to feed myself and my 3-year-old cat named Monkey.

I just know I cannot continue to live without basic human necessities, and in order to protect my mental and emotional well-being, I unfortunately have to leave the place I've lived since I can remember.
