Support a Mom and Her Boys in Their Legal Battle

Hi my name is Jordan! I’m a mom to three lovely boys and two cats. My husband is an Army veteran and is currently in school full time for IT.

Our family has been through the wringer this past year. We have never reached out publicly for assistance but we are in desperate need of support, not just financial support but resource support is also welcomed. Any attorneys or anyone who may have connections would be extremely helpful as we believe we have faced extreme injustices.

We purchased our first home in October of 2023, and moved in shortly after closing on the property.

Since moving in we have been continuously harassed by the neighbors and the local sheriff’s department, who claim we have no legal access to the property.

The property is located in a rural area but has an established address and mailbox. However, the neighbor claims there is no driveway and continues to call the sheriff’s anytime we leave our house.

I found these claims to be absurd since we paid for a title search and title insurance. The property was sold to us as having legal ingress/egress. There is the presence of a worn driveway that clearly shows previous access.

I tried explaining to the sheriff but he was not interested in hearing my side. He continued to weaponize the department on behalf of the neighbor and other adjacent property owner, whom happens to be a prominent pecan farm owner. Unfortunately, I was pursued over what should have been a civil matter and taken up in the courts.

On my third arrest for “trespass”, I contacted the closing attorney firm to report the arrests and harassment. I requested to open a title insurance claim. The title insurance approved the claim and responded by hiring another firm out of Atlanta to defend the title and we have court scheduled for the 12th of March.

Despite alerting the title insurance company of the dire situation I was arrested, again, on November 25th, in my own house, in front of my children, for “failure to appear.” This was a fictitious charge since I did appear in court on the 5th of November for the “criminal trespass” charge.

I was told by the public defender that I would be found guilty. I told him I had an open title insurance claim, which he did not care, nor did he listen to me explain to him that I was not guilty. He told me he was on a private contract with the judge. It became clear that they were only interested in running us off.

I was held in the county jail for 42 days, missing Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years with my family.

My mom was able to rescue me from the county jail on January 7th by agreeing to leave the county immediately after being released. My release paperwork was a hand written note from the judge, which I found strange.

So my family and I are currently living out of a suitcase and staying with my mom in her one bedroom condo. I haven’t been back to my property and belongings since I was arrested in November.

I lost my job last year due to the multiple arrests for “trespass” while attempting to access my property.

We bought the property out right and did not obtain a mortgage. We were only able to do this because of a small inheritance I received from my dad. We were hoping to be there forever and have a nice slow, peaceful live but what we got instead was a nightmare.

We have been ran out of the county by the neighbor, who I later found out, had a bid in on the property and apparently I outbid him. With the help of the sheriff’s department and court system we have successfully been denied our property rights.

We are pretty much homeless even though we have a paid off property sitting vacant with all of our belongings still there.

Ive asked the title insurance to pay out on the policy since there is no point in defending the title since they have banned me from the county and the neighbor is freighting. They are instead requesting me to participate in a suit against the neighbors even though this will not restore my access, nor clear my newly obtained criminal record. I also requested a living expense to be paid out, however that has also been denied.

We are praying someone can help us. Whether financial or by connecting us to civil rights attorneys and/or advocates.

I have no previous criminal record and have never been arrested or put in jail before. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. God Bless.
