Jahnisse’s Top Surgery

Hi my name is Jahnisse. Some of you may know me as Jah Phoenix. I am a transgender/non binary 26 year old Afro Latinx artist and activist living in NYC.

I am asking for much needed assistance with a gender affirming surgery. I am trying to raise money to assist with Top Surgery costs.

As a non binary person, I experience what is known as “gender dysphoria,” causing me to feel uncomfortable in my own body. I’ve always had a pretty small chest size and people would press the idea of getting a “boob job” on me when in reality I wanted the complete opposite. I don’t want them at all. Now that I’m getting older, my chest has grown to the biggest size I’ve experienced and it’s begun to affect my mental health. Getting misgendered due to my chest and not being able to feel comfortable topless are some of the significant ways this has impacted my life.

I have tried to hide or bind, to minimize my chest size but I am tired of hiding myself. This surgery will help me to generally enjoy my life more and assist with my feelings of dysphoria and depression.

Your contribution to this fund, no matter how small, would be so appreciated and truly mean the world to me. Everyday I think about how I would immediately get Top Surgery if it weren’t for financial barriers.

Moving forward in my life and in this world with the chest that I envision for myself, is a move forward toward actually being happy within myself as a whole.

Why do I need financial support?

I struggle to write this and ask for help but I’m asking that even if you only have $5 to spare you do not hesitate to donate to help me access this life changing procedure.
