We are raising money to help complete funding of the production of The Pearl, a multimedia exploration of the ego versus the soul.
Choreographer Sonia Plumb and photographer Rob Goldman have teamed up to deliver a thought provoking journey of site and sound. Women dancers of various shapes, ages, ethnicities, sizes and sexual orientations interpret aspects of real-life struggles between their conditioned selves and their true nature. The piece is designed to provoke, honest, challenging dialogue by boldly confronting the destructive power of commercially and culturally propagated norms.
Through a dynamic synthesis of movement, sound and photography, The Pearl shines light upon the dispiriting impact of mass media, social media, family dynamics, racial bias, gender identification and religion.
