Justice and Peace for The Reid’s

Donation protected
On April 18, 2022, Stephen and Djeswende Reid went for a walk on a nearby hiking trail in Concord, New Hampshire but tragically never made it back home. If you are learning about the loss of the Reid’s for the first time; know that we share in your shock and devastation. If you have been following the case and are searching for ways to offer support, please do so using this GoFundMe page. It has been set up to assist the surviving adult children, Lindsay (daughter) and Brian (son), with expenses and financial strain related to the evolving situation. To date, the investigation is ongoing and there has been no justice for this beautiful interracial global couple.

As former international development colleagues of Lindsay’s, we are heartbroken for her and her family. We have put together this GoFundMe page as a sign of support, providing a path to reach the family’s global network. No one should have to go through this type of unimaginable pain due to the senseless murder of their beloved family members. We want them to know they’re not alone. We hope that the funds raised can ease the financial burden and toll of the ongoing investigation, potential legal fees, ancillary memorial expenses and other unplanned costs yet to come. We know it will never fill the immeasurable loss of their parents, but it’s a small sign of support as they seek justice and peace for the Reid family.

Lindsay and Brian will need time to process the loss of their parents during the ongoing investigation - and the last thing we want is for them also to be overwhelmed with financial burdens related to this devastating loss amidst grieving. To date, aside from a sketch and some leads, the murderer has not been apprehended, and there has been no justice. It will be a long road ahead for the family with unpredictable emotional and financial costs related to the complex situation.

For example, since their relatives reside worldwide, they are trying to quickly navigate visas, COVID, vaccine documentation, and other travel restrictions. There will need to be two memorials to accommodate the immediate family and cultural customs - one in the USA and one in Africa, where Djeswende’s family resides. The types of costs for both funerals may include:
  • Memorial in North America: Financial assistance, airfare, accommodations and ground transportation for Djeswende’s family flying from Togo, Africa, to New Hampshire;
  • Memorial in Africa: Financial assistance, airfare, accommodation, ground transportation to and from Togo and Burkina Faso for the immediate family - potentially a week-long ceremony;
  • Professional Fees: possible legal, banking, and other professional fees related to the memorials;
  • Other: Funds to cover unpaid time off work for travel as mentioned above, mental health days, bereavement, and ancillary expenses for both the domestic and international memorial; and much more.

Please note that this goal does not include standard funeral expenses, which typically cost an additional $7,000 to $10,000 for an individual funeral - and in this devastating case, there will be two.

If you are searching for a way to support the family in their time of need, you are invited to send a token of your love with condolences to Lindsay (daughter) and Brian Reid (son) via this Memoriam account in honor of their parents Stephen and Djeswende Reid. Lindsay and Brian will be co-stewards of these generous funds, and anything you can give will go directly to them.
