Carrying the cost of love, grief, and goodbyes
Donation protected
In just over two and a half years, I lost my dad and both of my grandparents—three of the most important people in my life. The emotional toll of that kind of loss is something I still struggle to put into words. But along with the heartbreak came the financial strain of saying goodbye the right way.
I did what I had to do to support my mom and help cover funeral costs, using my credit cards to shoulder the expenses she couldn’t manage alone. At the time, I didn’t think twice—it was about family, and making sure our loved ones were honored with the care they deserved. But now, I’m sitting with over $30,000 in credit card debt, and I don’t have the means to get out from under it.
I’m currently on disability from all the toll it took on my mental health and doing everything I can to get by, but the bills keep coming, and the weight of it all is overwhelming. I’ve always been someone who helps others where I can—but today, I’m the one who needs help.
If you’re able to donate anything at all, please know that it will make a huge difference—not just financially, but emotionally too. And if you can’t give, sharing this with others would mean the world.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me breathe a little easier again
P.S. the animals are my family members favorite animals (gorilla=dad, owl=grandpa, and hummingbird=grandma)
